Meet Our Team

Anita Ewing

Anita has always been a ‘mover’. She has had a life-long interest in dance, yoga and now Pilates.

After being diagnosed with scoliosis in her mid 50s, Anita has experienced in her own body the transformative power of Pilates. The regular practice of Pilates has helped her to reduce her pain, support her spine, and strengthen all the parts of the body.

Anita is certified as a Pilates instructor by ‘The Pilates PhysicalMind Institute’ in New York City. She sees the personal attention and small student/teacher ratio at Blue Frog as critical to avoiding injury while improving posture, muscle tone and movement patterns. She has been a member of our staff at Blue Frog Pilates for 2 years with a goal of bringing balance to the bodies of her clients.

Anita lives in Edgewater with her husband Don and 2 dogs. They have raised 3 sons and enjoy kayaking and gardening.

Emily Black

Emily is originally from Baltimore, but has spent some of her time and received many of her Pilates certifications while in Florida. She received her Mat pilates certification through the Physical Mind Institute, and her Reformer certification through STOTT Pilates. Emily is also an AFAA certified personal trainer, and a trained Ashtanga Yoga instructor.

Emily is an advert believer in holistic health and wellness, and is very enthusiastic about sharing mind-body exercise with others. She enjoys challenging her students in a warm and encouraging environment, making sure everyone gets an effective workout in a safe manner. When she isn’t teaching, Emily loves to cook, write, and hang with her two puggles, Tigger and Marley.

Allison, a graduate of Washington College with a degree in Education, has been in the fitness industry since 1976 when she opened Universal Gymnastics in Annapolis. She owned and operated Universal until November of 2008 when they closed their doors after 32 years of teaching gymnastics. After retiring from the gym, Allison studied to become certified to teach pilates and has been training clients ever since. Teaching pilates was a natural course of events ! Trained and certified through Physical Mind, Allison enjoys teaching other Annapolitans to strengthen and tone muscles, improve posture, flexibility, balance, while enhancing their physical and emotional well-being.

Jane Opie

Jane has been in the health and fitness industry since 2003. She is certified in Pilates through the PhysicalMind Institute and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She has extensive training in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology and experience working with a broad spectrum of health issues including herniated disks, arthritis, spinal stenosis and joint replacements. This training and experience facilitates customizing each client’s program to restore optimal function and ease of movement.

Ingrid Pailthorp

Ingrid Pailthorp currently runs her own physical therapy practice, Form and Motion Physical Therapy, LLC. She graduated for the University of Maryland School of Medicine and holds a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Prior to physical therapy school, Ingrid was an instructor for Blue Frog Pilates where she continues to train clients. She is a Physical Mind Certified Instructor who trained under Susanna Chase. Ingrid finds the pilates method to be a compliment to her physical therapy approach. This approach focuses on the whole body and the need to establish neutral body mechanics, restore functional movement patterns and create lifestyle balance. She loves the outdoors and appreciates the importance of staying active. She was a competitive athlete in high school and college and understands the need to not only move but to move well.

Mischelle Wilbricht

I have been teaching Pilates at Blue Frog, since I received my certification from Susanna Chase in 2009. Before that I was a client at the studio. Pilates changed the way I looked and felt, and that is when I decided to become an instructor. I live in Annapolis, with my husband and two sons. I am also an artist, ex-graphic designer. I try to bring a creative and motivational influence into my classes, and private sessions.
